Benefits of Bilingualism

At ARDOR families will be able to choose from several foreign languages – Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese etc. Some languages will be offered as a part of the curriculum as a second language, while other as a part of after school enrichment.

Bilingual speakers enjoy cognitive benefits beyond the fulfillment of fluency. Those speakers process competing information more efficiently and more easily than those who know just a single language. The benefits occur because the bilingual brain is constantly activating both languages and choosing which language to use and which language to ignore. When the brain is constantly exercised in this way, it becomes better at selecting relevant information and ignoring competing distractions.

Based on current demand ARDOR School offers classes in the following Languages (some are offered as part of the curriculum, others as part of the after-school enrichment program).

Mandarin (3 hour full immersion after school classes)
Spanish (3 hour full immersion after school classes)
French (3 hour full immersion after school classes)
Russian
Japanese

These classes are offered on a first come, first served basis and require a minimum number of enrolled students in order to run. Additional languages might be offered based on demand.
