Physical Education

Elementary Schools in Williamsburg

Movement and cognition are closely connected. Promoting and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle stands as the primary function of the Physical Education program at Ardor.

PRESCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

In PreSchool years we incorporate gymnastics in our Physical Education program as one of the most comprehensive lifestyle exercise programs available to children. It promotes strength, flexibility, speed, balance, coordination, power, and discipline. Whether they will be involved in recreational gymnastics, competition squad, or choose a different sport, skills learned in gymnastics will benefit a child’s overall development and build a solid foundation.

LOWER SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

The projected commitment of the physical education program is to educate and advocate continued physical and mental health. Students are taught to work as partners, contend in challenging matches, set high aspirations, and follow the guidelines of fair play. Training for team sports kick off in the elementary years, where physical education classes consist of a variety of specialized sport-based aptitudes. Team sport competition will be initiated at the Middle School Division during sixth grade. Students who are not on teams remain in the mandated Physical Education programs here at Ardor School.
